Replacing a missing tooth is about more than restoring its appearance and function. At Hočevar Dental Centre, we also consider what we are placing into the body and how the material may interact with the surrounding tissues.
This is why ceramic implantology is an important part of our approach to dental care.
We use zirconia implants exclusively, choosing a metal-free solution that combines excellent biocompatibility, natural aesthetics and the long-term stability required for implant treatment.
Why zirconia?
Zirconia is a high-performance ceramic material that can be used to create dental implants without metal. Its tooth-coloured appearance makes it particularly well suited to aesthetic treatment, while its biocompatible properties make it a material we have chosen to work with exclusively.
For us, however, the choice of implant material is only one part of the bigger picture.
The health of the tissues surrounding an implant is equally important. This means that successful treatment depends on much more than the implant itself. Accurate diagnostics, careful treatment planning, appropriate case selection and precise clinical execution all play an essential role.
Our approach to ceramic implantology
At Hočevar Dental Centre, we take a comprehensive approach to implant treatment. We look beyond simply replacing a missing tooth and consider how the treatment fits into the patient's overall oral health and long-term wellbeing.
In the accompanying video, Dr Gregor Hočevar explains what ceramic implants are, what sets them apart and why we have chosen to work exclusively with zirconia implants at Hočevar Dental Centre.

Because replacing a tooth is not simply about filling a space. It is about choosing a solution that becomes part of the body — and one that we want to remain healthy and stable for many years to come.
