Natalija Stojić, DMD, dentist at Center Hočevar, has obtained the SMART Certificate from the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology — IAOMT.
SMART, or Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique, is a protocol for the safer removal of existing amalgam fillings. It is designed to help reduce mercury exposure during the procedure and provide additional protection for the patient, the dental team, and the environment.
When removing amalgam fillings, precision alone is not enough. A thorough understanding of dental materials, protective protocols, and the potential burden on the body is also essential.
