Sometimes, the impact of a treatment goes beyond what we can see in a smile.
In this case, thorough diagnostics revealed an unfavourable condition in the anterior region, including inflamed and non-vital teeth. Following careful treatment planning, the affected teeth were removed and immediate ceramic implant placement was performed.
Today, 4.5 years after treatment, the clinical outcome remains stable, functional, and naturally aesthetic.
It starts with diagnostics
The visible appearance of the teeth tells only part of the story. Before planning treatment, comprehensive diagnostics are essential to assess the condition of the teeth, periodontal and bone structures, as well as other factors relevant to selecting the appropriate treatment approach.
In this patient, the diagnostic findings revealed a compromised condition of the teeth in the anterior region. Based on these findings, an individual treatment plan was developed, including removal of the affected teeth and their replacement with ceramic implants.
What we see on the surface may be only part of the story. Precise diagnostics reveal the complete clinical picture.
Immediate ceramic implant placement
Following removal of the affected teeth, ceramic implants were placed immediately in the same region.
With this approach, precise treatment planning, suitable anatomical conditions, accurate implant positioning, and careful management of bone and soft tissues are key factors in achieving predictable functional and aesthetic outcomes.
Ceramic implants provide a metal-free treatment option. In the aesthetic zone, particular attention is also given to preserving the natural appearance of the soft tissues and achieving a harmonious final prosthetic result.
The result 4.5 years later
At the 4.5-year follow-up, the treatment demonstrates a stable functional and aesthetic outcome. The final prosthetic restoration integrates naturally into the patient’s smile, highlighting the importance of accurate diagnostics, careful treatment planning, and precise clinical execution.
Following treatment, the patient also reported changes in her overall well-being, including a clearer mind, improved focus, and an overall improvement in how she felt.
The importance of timely diagnostics
Changes in the oral cavity can sometimes develop without noticeable symptoms. Regular examinations and appropriate diagnostics can therefore help identify and assess such conditions and, where necessary, allow treatment to be planned before they progress further.
At Center Hočevar, we therefore look beyond the individual tooth. When planning treatment, we consider the broader clinical picture and seek solutions that take into account function, aesthetics, biological factors, and the long-term stability of the result.
