A pediatric dentist is the first dentist we encounter in life, which is why at our Center Hočevar we prioritize creating a friendly environment where our youngest patients feel safe, free from fear and any worries.

Taking care of our overall health is important from an early age, and visiting a children's dentist prepares a child for the responsibility of taking care of their teeth and keeping them healthy, properly cared for and beautiful into old age.

In addition to treatment, paediatric dentistry also includes familiarisation with the dental environment, dental procedures and education about dental hygiene and health.

Like all other services, we offer at the Center Hočevar, the concept of paediatric dentistry is biological and we will strive to deliver quality work in this area!

First Visit

The first visit is recommended when the first baby tooth appears and is not intended for treatment, but rather for prevention—advising parents on proper oral hygiene for baby teeth and on nutrition. Preventive care ensures a HEALTHY CHILD'S SMILE and a healthier development, as it allows the child to chew normally and absorb more nutrients from their food. Oral diseases can also affect OVERALL HEALTH.

Regular preventive dental check-ups are crucial.

We provide timely protection for teeth and address any cavities or other imperfections. This way, with smaller preventive interventions, we can avoid the need for more extensive treatments in later years. Regular visits to the dentist help instill the importance of oral hygiene and overall oral health.

We are aware that children's dentistry requires a special psychological approach that must be adapted to the needs of the young patient, which is why we have created a friendly and welcoming environment where our little ones will feel safe and comfortable.

  • Early Care is Key: It's important to start caring for children's teeth early in childhood. Proper brushing and gum care are essential for maintaining healthy teeth.
  • Regular Preventive Check-ups: Regular visits to the dentist are crucial. This allows for early detection of any potential issues and prevents them from worsening.
  • Proper Nutrition: Diet has a significant impact on children's dental health. Avoid foods that are overly sugary and acidic, and encourage the consumption of calcium-rich foods.
  • Establishing a Positive Attitude Towards Dental Visits: Parents should familiarize their children with dental visits from a young age and encourage them to cooperate and feel at ease during check-ups.

Our services for children and adolescents include preventive check-ups, treatment of early cavities using minimally invasive methods, fissure sealants, and other procedures. We work together with parents and orthodontists to ensure timely intervention for any developmental irregularities.

Special attention is given to the eruption of permanent first molars, which can sometimes emerge without the loss of baby teeth. Timely care of these teeth prevents cavities and ensures that children can chew properly and receive all the necessary nutrients.

Caring for children's teeth is not just about aesthetics; it also contributes to the child's overall health. At the Hočevar Center, we aim to leave the fear of dentists in the past, where it belongs.

We will introduce the importance of oral care through play. It is very important that child and ultimately the parents trust us and feel at ease - our attitude will always be patient, friendly and understanding. All examinations and procedures are minimally invasive.
